We are living in the wake of major changes in AI and Energy, and require long-term solutions. I believe in The Nuclear Option. While natural gas and renewables are the solution we have today, long-term, we require clean, safe, and reliable energy at scale.

• Clean. Nuclear power has one of the lowest emission profiles of any generation technology, including wind and solar.

• Safe. Despite a few well publicized events, nuclear is one of the safest generation technologies we have. Nuclear results in 97%+ fewer deaths than coal, oil and natural gas, and is in line with wind and solar.

• Reliable. Nuclear power enjoys a higher average capacity factory of any form of generation, near 97%. This means we can expect to receive power when and where we need it, as baseload generation.

• Scalable. Nuclear plants are either very large (1 GW+) or small and modular. Both forms of production are scalable.

That said, it will take time. We require advancements in technology, regulation and long-term, deep pocketed financing to make this a reality. Public private support will be critical, as we build a much needed supply chain and supporting workforce. The governments that do choose to invest will find themselves leading the discussion in energy security and reliability.
